Lindsay Van Berkom is the Scholars Archive Administrator and Coordinator of Dewey Access Services for the University Libraries at the University at Albany, State University of New York. She is part of the UAlbany Libraries’ Scholarly Communications Team representing the University’s Institutional Repository, Scholars Archive. Through this group she has helped to provide services, develop relationships, and create resources for UAlbany Faculty, staff, and students to support scholarly publishing efforts and promote a culture of openness on campus. She was also a member of the University’ Open Access Policy Working Group which was charged with creating a University Open Access Policy. In March 2021, a resolution in favor of the policy was presented to the University Faculty Senate who voted in support of the resolution and we’re now waiting for implementation from the University’s Policy Advisory Committee, University Counsel, and the President. Lindsay was awarded the 2020 New York Library Association – Academic and Special Libraries Section Outstanding Professional Staff Award and was featured in the Winter 2021 Library Newsletter. Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University and has over 17 years of experience working in libraries.
