Bio
Caroline Damren is the Copyright and Accessibility Specialist at the University of Michigan Center of Academic Innovation (CAI). There, she supports faculty and staff navigating compliance within online learning initiatives with a focus on copyright, accessibility, and third-party risk. Prior to her work at CAI, she was a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and most recently, as a Student Support Coordinator. As a SLP, she developed a passion for disability advocacy. As a Student Support Coordinator, she led special education teams and managed the processes for Special Education and Section 504 eligibility. In this role, she became well versed in special education law and worked closely with parents, administrators, teachers, and related services staff to work collaboratively to support students. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from University of Cincinnati and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from George Washington University.
