Open Track Lightning Talks: Comparing Perceived and Actual Copyright Knowledge of Music Librarians

Tue, 06/11/2019
09:00 AM - 10:00 AM

University Center Theater

Music librarians interact with copyright issues as a normal part of their job, including answering patron questions about copyright. However, prior studies of copyright knowledge of any type of librarians have only looked at what they perceive their knowledge of copyright to be. No study has looked specifically at music librarians, either their perceived or actual knowledge of copyright law.  This poster will present results from a recent survey and quiz sent to music librarians via MLA-L, the Music Library Association listserv. The survey was open to anyone who self-identified as a music librarian working in the United States.
