Rachel Miles is a Digital Scholarship Librarian at the Center for the Advancement of Digital Scholarship (CADS) at Kansas State University (K-State) Libraries. Her primary focus is on copyright education, outreach, and consultations to the campus community. She also assists faculty, researchers, and students with research impact and assessment, scholarly publishing, Open Access (OA), and data location. She is the Libraries' partner on the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative, which gives grants to faculty to develop open or alternative educational resources at no cost to students, and she is a reviewer and administrator for the K-State Open Access Publishing Fund. She assists CADS with the open online scholarly publishing platform, New Prairie Press, and the institutional repository, the K-State Research Exchange (K-REx). Her research focuses on the awareness and usage of research impact metrics among academic librarians and faculty members. Rachel holds a Master of Library Science (MLS) from Emporia State University.
