Several statutory exceptions are the center of much of our attention at this conference, and we need to take them back to our home institutions and put them to work. This session will take a broad view of policy planning, as well as offer numerous specific examples for policy development. How do we build a fair use policy, when the ground seems to be steadily shifting? How do we address the specific construct of the exceptions for libraries and for distance education, when the statutory language strays from helpful to perplexing? How do we build support for our new policies among our colleagues, faculty, and public patrons?
